Jon Montgomery captured the hearts of Canadians — and the attention of everyone —during the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. After years of hard work, training, and perseverance, Jon won a gold medal in the skeleton, securing his place in history as one of the best. His celebratory walk through Whistler Village showcased his passion, spirit, and sense of humour — traits that he brings to every platform, whether in front of a live audience or as host of The Amazing Race Canada. Jon has become a staple in the CTV summer line-up attracting, on average, almost two million viewers each season, making it one of Canada’s most popular shows.
A casual trip to Canada Olympic Park left an indelible mark on Jon when he witnessed a skeleton race and immediately fell in love with the sport. In his rookie season, he kicked off his World Cup campaign with a bronze medal, going on to finish in the top ten three more times, and finishing sixth overall. His sophomore season saw him earn five podium finishes, including his first World Cup victory and a silver medal at the World Championships. Jon placed second overall and from there went on to win his Olympic gold medal at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.
Today, Jon is the host of the hit TV show, The Amazing Race Canada, which has earned him two Canadian Screen Awards. He has also had the honor of co-hosting the Junos with Jann Arden.
Outside of being a famous television host and athlete, Jon is also a trained and successful auctioneer, father to a young son, and a lover of the outdoors, adventure, and new challenges.
